1CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES

Carnival refers to its kids' program as Camp Carnival. Camp Carnival is a year-round, fleetwide program that provides daily fun-filled and age-appropriate activities for children and teenagers between the ages of 2 and 15 years old. In addition, there is supervised "free play" and evening babysitting service (for a nominal fee). Scheduled activities are planned for the following age groups: Toddlers (2 - 5 years old), Juniors (6 - 8 years old), Intermediate (9 - 11 years old) and Teens (12 - 15 years old). Younger teens will only be allowed in the onboard disco until 10:45pm. After 11:00pm, any guests under the age of 16 must leave the disco. The Camp Carnival staff will coordinate late night activities for guests 15-years-old and younger. Activities may include a late night movie, Karaoke, "Swim Under the Stars", etc.
Program activities and age groups are subject to change.

Carnival would like to note that Camp Carnival is not a "daycare". The program is designed so that families are able to enjoy quality family time together, and yet also have the choice of being with peers of their own age, whenever desired.

Camp Carnival Counselors

Carnival knows that every parent wants the best for their children. That's why they've hired only the best youth counselors to run their Camp Carnival program. Every Camp Carnival counselor is either college-educated in a related field, or has professional childcare experience, or both. Carnival also performs a thorough background check on each and every one of their youth counselors. And every one of the youth staff is fully trained in CPR and basic first aid. Camp Carnival counselors are qualified and dedicated to making sure your children are safe, happy and having the time of their lives.




ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISE LINES

Royal Caribbean's Adventure Ocean® and Fisher-Price Aqua Babies and Aqua Tots programs comprise one of the most comprehensive youth activity programs in the vacation industry. And you can feel confident leaving your children, over three years of age, with the youth program staff because every member of the youth staff holds a college degree in education or other related field, or has qualified experience in working with children.

From 6-36 months of age, Royal Caribbean's tiniest guests and their parents are invited to participate in the Fisher-Price Aqua Babies and Aqua Tots Programs. Developed by Fisher-Price exclusively for Royal Caribbean International, these activities are hosted by trained youth staff. A parent or caregiver MUST accompany children during activity sessions.

Kids from 3-17 may take part in Royal Caribbean's complimentary Adventure Ocean Youth Program. Adventure Ocean was specially designed to blend educational activities with just plain fun. To participate in the Adventure Ocean programs, children must be three years of age and potty-trained (diaper and pull-up free).

Aqua Babies: Ages 6-18 months (Activities may vary from ship to ship.)

To make your time onboard even more enjoyable, join your 6 to 18-month-old in the fun of Aqua Babies, interactive playgroup sessions developed by early childhood experts at Fisher-Price. Aquanauts: Ages 3-5

All Aquanauts must be three years old and toilet trained. No pull-ups or diapers please. Activities may vary from ship to ship. The Aquanauts' program has been designed specifically for children ages 3 to 5. A member of the Youth Staff supervises all activities, which include:

Adventure Science - Conducted by Royal Caribbean's specially-trained Adventure Scientists, this program combines fun and hands-on science experiments. Featured programs include: Wacky Water Workshop, Magnetic Mayhem, H2O Thunder Races, Gummy Candies and Bubbling Potions.
Adventure Art - These activities acquaint kids with diverse cultures through art. Children are introduced to the fine art of Japanese fish printing called Gyotaku. Aquanauts also decorate pillowcases, make pet rocks and draw ships for the Captain.

Sail Into Storytime - These theme-related storytime sessions bring each story to life with activities, discussions on each story and hands-on activities for the children to participate in following each reading.

Other Games and Theme Activities - Nutty Nicknames, Un-Birthday Party, Cookie Creations, Ice Cream Party, Rock-N-Roll Party, Face Painting, Pirate Night, Talent Show, Country Western Night, Pajama Rama Movie Night and Carnival Night.

Out Island Activities on CocoCay and Labadee - Aquanauts can enjoy Adventure Beach activities on itineraries that visit CocoCay and Labadee. Other Explorer Games and Theme Activities - Wacky Olympics, Name That Tune, Dancing Through the Decades, Pirate Night, Ice Cream Party, Country Western Night, Bingo and Movie Mania.

Out Island Activities on CocoCay and Labadee - Explorers can enjoy Adventure Beach activities on itineraries that visit CocoCay and Labadee. Adventure Art - These activities acquaint kids with diverse cultures through art. Voyagers discover Native American Spirit Stones and learn how Native American cultures decorate these stones to represent qualities of spirits.

Other Voyager Games and Theme Activities - The X Games, Rockin' Through the Decades, Reggae Beach Party, Scavenger Hunts, List-O-Rama, Backstage Tour, Horse Racing, Win Cruise or Draw, Talent Show and Sports Tournaments.

Aquanauts, Explorers & Voyagers

In Port: 9:00am - Noon, 7:00pm - 10:00pm

Navigators
Activities are scheduled throughout the day and early evening. The Teen Center (available on all ships, except Nordic Empress) is open from 10:30pm - 2:00am each evening. Teens are welcome to come and socialize and participate in activities, make new friends and dance to the latest hits.

Dining and Beverages

Special Kids' Menu
The Royal Caribbean kids' menu features all the food that kids love: Fried Chicken and Fish, Pizza, Steak, Hamburgers, Peanut Butter, Hot Dogs and Mac and Cheese. It's the yummiest kids menu on the ocean!

Coke Program
On a Royal Caribbean Cruise, children have their own beverage programs, too. Young cruisers, 18 years and younger, can have as many fountain soft drinks as they like for a fixed price by participating in the Kid's Coke Special. This can be purchased onboard throughout the ships' lounges and beverage service counters.

Kids Dining with the Youth Staff
Royal Caribbean offers parents the opportunity to dine without their children, allowing them to participate in more Adventure Ocean Activities. Each Royal Caribbean ship offers the Adventure Ocean Dinner option on certain nights from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. These kids-only dinners are hosted by Royal Caribbean's expert Youth Staff and give children an additional opportunity to meet and mingle - while giving parents the opportunity to dine on their own.

Adventure Ocean Staff

Royal Caribbean puts your kids in good hands. Each of their Adventure Ocean Staff members holds a four year degree from an accredited College or University in Education, Recreation or related major, an extensive background in working with large groups of youth ages 3-17, and 3-5 years working in team situations. Royal Caribbean also requires 3-5 years experience working in school/community sponsored youth programs or summer camps. Certifications in CPR and Basic First Aid are also required. Some of the Youth Staff even speak Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Cantonese. Royal Caribbean's Adventure Ocean staff are handpicked for their ability to engage and entertain youth of all ages. Their job is to make sure that all kids have a great time, and meet new friends in a safe, healthy, stimulating environment.

Baby-sitting

Group sitting is available on all ships and is supervised by the youth staff. The service is offered from 10:00pm - 1:00am each evening in the youth facilities. Children must be at least three years of age, potty trained and pull-up diaper free to enter the youth facilities and participate in activities. The rate is $5 per hour, per child.

In-stateroom sitting must be booked through the Purser's/Guest Relations Desk at least 24 hours in advance. It cannot be booked prior to the cruise vacation and there is no guarantee that sitters will be available. The in-stateroom sitting service is offered from 8:00am - 2:00am, and children must be at least one year old. Approximate rates are $8 per hour for one or two children within the same family, $10 per hour for three children within the same family.

Times and prices are subject to change without notice. Payment for baby-sitting services must be made in cash.




NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINES

Norwegian's fun and flexible Kid's Crew and Teen Club programs are designed for kids from age 2 to 17. The well-trained counselors offer an age-appropriate array of fun-filled options so kids can get as much excitement out of the cruise as their parents do.
NCL's Kid's Crew Program
Activities are organized according to age group.

Junior Sailors (ages 2-5)
Junior Sailors are amused by storytelling, T-shirt painting, arts and crafts, face painting, magic shows, and Circus at Sea. Outdoor and indoor games provide endless hours of fun.

First Mates (ages 6-8)
Onboard NCL, First Mates participate in wacky cooking classes, decorative T-shirt painting, sing-alongs, and poolside root beer float parties. The "Kid's Crew" program also coordinates on-shore activities including a treasure hunt and a sandcastle building competition on NCL's private island.

Navigators (ages 9-12)
Navigators test their skill at Sega and video games and search for treasures on scavenger hunts. Evenings are filled with pajama parties, movies and camp-outs with flashlights and tents.

Teens (ages 13-17)
NCL entertains Teens throughout the daytime and into the evening. By day, Teens enjoy pool parties, volleyball and basketball, the Newlymet Game, and trivia contests. Evenings are filled with NCL's Broadway-style shows and spectaculars, line dancing, teen disco (not available on all ships), and special theme parties.

Kid's Crew Program

The "Kid's Crew" program includes a plethora of supervised games, T-shirts for design painting, and a Mom and Dad's Night Out. Children receive their own Cruise News detailing daily events. A complimentary chef's hat, also included in the program, is essential for creative cooking classes where children can make decorative pizzas or cookies. NCL's autograph/scrapbooks make perfect mementos of the kids' experiences and friendships. Junior cruisers can even celebrate their birthdays on the high seas with NCL's special "Kid's Crew" birthday parties. NCL also offers eight delicious children's menus to tempt the most finicky eaters. And of course, there's always peanut butter and jelly on hand, just in case. The fleetwide program is available year-round and is free of charge.

Kid's Crew Staff

An exceptionally qualified staff of trained counselors run NCL's "Kid's Crew" program in a safe and secure environment. The staff attends special training courses on team and confidence building, communication skills, safety, and working with children who have special needs.

Babysitting

In addition to regularly scheduled hours on days at sea, including 7:00pm - 10:00pm, NCL's "Kid's Crew" program is available on port days for Group Sitting from 9:00am - 5:00pm, and every evening from 10:00pm - 1:00am for a nominal fee, providing children with even more occasions to enjoy the creative activities that have been specifically designed for them.
